Talya Kronisch

Talya was a Macaulay undergraduate student that has played a support role for projects related to exogenous addition of patterns on our fish as well as assaying sex-specific behavioral variation between males and females of our cichlid model. She also did a ton of image analysis in our squid system. She is on her way to medical training in 2025!

Aliza Siegman

Aliza was a Macaulay undergraduate student in QC’s Neuroscience Program. She carried out research as an undergraduate member of HMNS and received a SURPS award for summer research. She has played a support role for projects related to DNA methylation patterns that are associated with color change. She is currently training for her Masters at the Vilcek Institute of Graduate Biomedical Sciences at NYU.


Yael Mushell

Yael was a HMNS student who worked on several projects in the Alvarado Lab. As an undergraduate researcher in the biology department she was initially involved in profiling behavior in fall army worm and went on to assist scoring efforts for many projects using our cichlid model system.

Seulbi Lee

Seulbi Lee

Seulbi is a NYU graduate with a B.A. in Mathematics and has 2 years experience teaching math. She is currently a post-baccalaureate here at Queens College CUNY and is characterizing the pigmentation differences of Astatotilapia burtoni under natural variations of lighting.

Joseph Lawrence

Joseph Lawrence

Joseph is a Stony Brook graduate with a B.Sc. in Psychology . He is currently an accelerated graduate track Master’s Student at Queens College CUNY. His work is exploring the interactions between retrotransposition and social status in an African cichlid, Astatotilapia burtoni.
